About your Hypnosis Session

Note: Each session and client are different, we may use all, some or none of the below techniques. This is a reference of what standard appointment could look like

Although rapid changes can be a part of Hypnosis, it may be unrealistic to expect years, or even decades of problems or habits to disappear within one session. If you find that Hypnosis works for you, and you see positive benefits of this therapy, feel free to ask about future sessions or packages.

Suggestibility

Valleywide Hypnosis will determine you suggestibility which is one of a multiple ways to determine your behavioral and learning processes.

Suggestibility Explanation

Physical Suggestible
At Valleywide Hypnosis we practice emotional and physical hypnosis, where we believe a client will respond better either by direct suggestion, or by inferred suggestion. Your Hypnosis session can take many forms, including paternal hypnotherapy, where the hypnotherpist having determined the suggestions will deliver this directly to the client, telling or explaining exactly how the suggestion will work. This approach tends to work well with Physical suggestible

Emotional Suggestible
Another form of Hypnosis is inferred and tends to work better with emotional suggestible. Emotional suggestible tend to infer information and reject direct paternal input, this type of session will be more of a guiding session than a directive session.

You're Behavioral Learning.

People learn and interpret differently, where some can can grasp contact tasks just by looking, other need audio clues or the experience of actually doing the work. Valleywide Hypnosis will determine your method of learning which is vitally important with interpreting the methodology, verbiage, and overall game plan needed to assist with your desired changes.

Visual

Visual inclined learners tend to understand easily by watching. These folks may find themselves always watching every movement with interest and can close there eyes and replay what had happened.

Audio

Audio folks are inclined to focus more on what is said, than what was done visually. Tones, dialogue, and audio queues are all important in the interpretation and comprehension of the learned subject. Audio learners tend to point their ears toward the speaker and remember what was said more vividly than what was done.

Kinesthetic:

Kinesthetic folks are inclined to actually “do something” to learn it. Should they be learning a new skill they will actually want to practice, practice, practice, as their methodology is one of doing not seeing or hearing? Through repetition and actual physical practice these individual learns and repeat.

This process will be explained in full at the time of visit and after the test is taken.

INTAKE/PRE-INDUCTION INTERVIEW

An intake interview is done on the first visit. At this time demographic information is gathered which includes family and medical history, general life-style information and whatever else the subject or hypnotherpist feels necessary. And important but often overlooked piece of information is what name(s) the subject went by at various phases of their life. It will be much more effective to deal with Robert in a session involving him as a child if you know he went by "Bobby" and call him Bobby rather than Robert. The interview, with the exception of gathering specific information regarding anchors, is similar to any other counseling interview. A complete, in-depth interview may take an entire session.

During this interview information about the issue is gathered. Information such as when is the issue a problem, when is it not a problem, when is it worse, when is it better, how does it affect the subject, how would they like it to be, are all gathered at the beginning of a session. It is a good idea to cover this area at the beginning of each session to remain clear on the issue being worked with.

Next, realistic goals are set. The idea is to help you identify a goal that is clear and realistically achievable. For example, if you say, "I want to be able to run in a marathon in two weeks," and you haven't trained at all, we will want to probe further. We will want to ask questions that help you narrow the goal down to something that is achievable such as, in our example, to be able to go for a walk in their neighborhood three nights a week.

INDUCTION

Your Inductions may vary. Inductions strongly depend on the individual, if they are emotional or physical suggestible, if they are auditory or kinetic, and how well your respond to initial testing. Hypnosis inductions may involve light touching on the forearm or head, which allows you to achieve greater hypnotic depth. If you are uncomfortable with ANY touching please tell your Hypnotherpist.

Progressive relaxation and mental deepening techniques

Once induced into a hypnotic state your Hypnotherapist may check to see what depth you are at and try several techniques to deepen your response. You will be instructed to lie down and remain comfortable as your progressive relaxation starts. Progressive relaxation is a relaxation method and hypnotic deepener that will allow you to achieve maximum depth, as well as relax your body.

Suggestions

Once your Hypnotherapist is satisfied on your depth he or she will begin the suggestion process. The suggestion process is a technique of accessing your subconscious and explaining and guiding the changes that you have previous spoken to your Hypnotherapist about. Your Hypnotherapist will use guided imagery, perception, smells, and sounds to assist with the acceptance of the new suggestion.

The suggestion process is the heart of what is happening with your therapy and will remain and change existing learned habits. You will be aware of what is happening and it is best to visualize or imagine what your Hypnotist is saying to achieve the greatest results.

Regression

Depending on what you are working through, age regression may be necessary for the second or third session. Your Hypnotherapist will determine if age regression and emotional recall is safe and effective for your situation. If age regression is determined to be safe, effective and allowable by your subconscious, your Hypnotherapist will determine and find the initial sensitizing event, which is contributing to your overall condition or habit .Typically once theIST (initial sensitizing event) is dealt with and released from your subconscious mind, your overall condition or habit changes dramatically. Fore more information on age regression or emotional release please speak with your Hypnotist.

Anchoring

Your therapist may plant an agreed upon anchor into your subconscious mind. This anchor is something you can do (such as touch your thumb and forefinger together) to reactivate the hypnotic response that you are working on. For instance if you were trying to stop smoking, the Hypnotherapist may ask your subconscious to accept that every time you press your fingers together you will no longer have any desire for a cigarette.

Returning from the trance

Your Hypnotherapist will guide you slowly to full conscious from the trancelike state. Once fully conscious you will be allowed to recover for 5-10 minutes. This is important as you will stay in a suggestible state for 5-10 minutes after the Hypnosis process ends.

Post Hypnotic Interview

Your Hypnotherapist will discuss what he or she suggested and how the changes may happen over the next few days. He or she will also explain what (if any) follow up techniques are needed to achieve maximum results.

Follow Up Sessions

You and your Hypnotherapist may decide that multiple sessions are needed to assist with one change, or you may have found many changes you would like to accomplish. At this time future appointments will be set and outline of your next session and Hypnotic session overview will be discussed.

Between Sessions

Your Hypnotherapist at Valleywide Hypnosis will most likely ask you to practice certain follow up techniques between sessions, these are important to re-enforce the suggestions implanted during the Hypnosis session.
