Today is a New Day
Congratulations! You have taken the first giant step toward your new life! Feel good about this accomplishment and trust that you can do anything, and make any change needed to better your life. Your Hypnosis session focused on the power of the subconscious mind, our real selves, to start the process of adding positive suggestion in place of the negative or learned suggestion we had developed. It is extremely important to maintain a positive mind set and not become discouraged with small mistakes, or the quick appearance of old habits and feelings. Remember, the old you still exists inside you, but you have decided to start creating a focused approach to become the new person you want to be.
How Many Sessions do I need?
Hypnosis is an extremely effective modality in working through a wide range of issues, emotions, and circumstances. And as often discovered can even assists find the root cause of a situation you weren't even sure was related, but had a significant subconscious impact.
Many of my clients have been dealing with, or working through their problems for years or even decades, and have finally come to the point of frustration where they need something to change. This frustration usually happens about the same time they realize “I have to change” which allows them to start taking control of their life.
It would be unrealistic of me to say that with one session of Hypnosis, all of your problems will magically go away, or even more unrealistic for me to say that with Hypnosis you will not have to make any effort to change.
What you will notice is that Hypnosis will help you learn about, access, and change the way you have developed thoughts, ideas and Habits. It will assist you with understanding the “whys” of your current situation, and how events, people and circumstances effectively assisted in creating the person you are today. You will potentially dive deeper, learn more, and change quicker than you thought possible, because you are accessing, learning about, and stimulating change in the “real mind”.
So although a single session can assist in a great positive way, and may be sufficient form some people for some things, it is up to you to decide if this modality of personal change is right for you on an ongoing basis.
This being said it will be extremely important to create a game plan with your hypnotherapist to determine what your game plan is, numbers of sessions you both feel are needed, and desired outcome.
It is also extremely therapeutic to determine this game plan, right down the results expected, and monitor success and pitfalls during Hypnosis.
With minor tweaks your Hypnosis structured plan can and may change depending on your positive and accepted suggestions, as well as any denied suggestions. It is sometimes just as important to have negative or denied suggestions, to determine the cause, and target the overall sensitizing event in a different or restructured manner.
You will start to notice that not only are you becoming aware of how to change your subconscious and take control, you are seeing the results of these changes on a daily basis!
What to do between Sessions
1. Positive Self Talk – Many of us are our own harshest critics. Some of the things we say to ourselves are interpreted, digested, and experienced. Remember that the subconscious learns by repetition and feedback, so if you constantly bombard yourself with negative self talk, you will create that person. On the other hand if you modify your internal language and focus on the positive, you will see awesome transformations.
2. Self Hypnosis – Take a few minutes out of the day and practice Self Hypnosis explained to your during your session. Find a comfortable environment, tell yourself to breathe and relax, and count down from 10-0 slowly (say deeper relaxed) at every number until 0 then say deep sleep. At this point take (previous written) positive suggestion such as (I am becoming a non smoker, or my body is adjusting itself to its healthy weight) and repeat them, locking them in place in your subconscious mind. When you are satisfied count yourself up from 1-5 saying at five I will be refreshed, awake and alert. For more descriptions visit Valleywide Hypnosis.
3. Believe and Want Change – Hypnosis and Positive thinking are extremely successful when you believe they will work, and decide that you want change. Of course nothing is easy, and Hypnosis is no different. You may still have cravings, or experience fear, although less intense, or feel pulled back to your previous self, but remember, you always have a choice, and the choice you makes teaches and re-enforces the subconscious mind. So take a step toward the new you and make that positive choice.
4. Contact us or Email – Your Hypnotherapist is a full time life coach for you at this point. This experience is new to you, if you have questions email or call us. Don't worry, well walk you through the process of change, we have seen it done thousands of times, and were your partner for change.
Questions after the sessions
What if I feel habits or old feelings returning? This is completely normal. Remember it took years to create habits and feelings within your subconscious, to respond the way it had been responding. Hypnosis is a rapid method of reprogramming, but it will still take some effort on your part to make the right choices. Each time you deny a cigarette, eat healthy, tell yourself you are not experiencing the fear, or become aware of your actions, your subconscious minds old way of dealing with the response weakens, and allows the new Hypnotic suggestion to take place.
When should I schedule my next session (if coming multiple sessions)? It is recommended to come every week until the condition is changed.
Maintenance session usually come once every 2-6 weeks depending on the change needed.
I am not sure I was Hypnotized? This is the number one question the Hypnosis profession fields after the Hypnosis session. You will always remember what is going on, and hear every word that is spoken if you want to. It is impossible to tell Hypnotic depth within yourself, just like it is impossible to say how deep a daydream was, only that you experienced it. The critical mind will always (especially on the 1 st visit) listening in to what is going on, but may decide at a certain time to drift away and daydream, which is completely normal and safe. When the subconscious mind is accessed the Hypnotherapist watches for physical cues of Hypnotic depth, and will begin once they feel they have reached a therapeutic depth of Hyper Suggestibility. Many of my clients will ask if they were hypnotized, then mention vivid feelings, visuals, or smells along with time distortion. If you think about it, you entered a relaxing state of Hypnosis! Congratulations you did great!
What happens if I give in to my cravings or old feelings? This can happen, but rarely. The subconscious mind can deny any suggestion it wants to but if you really honest with yourself and want change, and are ready for change the subconscious mind must accept these suggestions. If you did give in to your old habits or feelings don't beat yourself up, remember it took years to create these feelings and habits, two or three weeks to get rid of them is amazing. Feel good and think positive, change will happen.
I'mCured! What Now? Congratulations on changing you belief patterns about yourself! Remember to continue to think and act in positive productive ways and this new thought process will last for life. Make sure to schedule some maintenance sessions down the road.
