Consciously you tell yourself you would like to lose weight and stay thin but there seems to be something much deeper controlling your eating habits. Unfortunately it's not that easy, you have learned habits over an extended amount of years which have taught your subconscious how to be overweight. This learned habit is cemented into your eating patterns, daily habits, emotions, and thoughts about yourself, which have all cemented themselves into your idea of yourself of being heavy.

 

This is why you may diet or lose weight for a short period of time, and then rebound quickly to the current size, or even much heavier than you were before. Just like a stretched elastic band will eventually return to its original shape, your subconscious mind will try to reset your weight loss back to “normal” which is where it has set your current weight.

 

You have learned that you cannot just lose weight by conscious will alone if there is subconscious resistance fighting every pound. If you could consciously just decide to lose weight, you would not be overweight but simply decide to be thin and do it.

 

 

Time to normalize your weight and remove destructive words

 

The good news is your subconscious can change and with the assistance of your Hypnotherapist you will learn to rethink the entire process of weight and normalization. First let's throw out the word weight loss, and replace it with weight normalization. Most everyone that steps in my office wants to “lose weight” but the subconscious mind, and as a matter of fact our conscious mind does not like to “lose anything”. The word loss promotes a negative feeling and a process that sparks the mind to try to recover what it has lost.

 

Weight Normalization is my process of working with weight in which I believe that we all have a ‘normal weight', a weight that our body and mind consider perfect. Your normalization of weight is the exact spot where your body is physically healthy, you're happy with your physical appearance, and you no longer obsess about weight or food

 

Also, as we are throwing out words my program does not include the words, diet, exercise, loss, or any of the traditional nonsense that has repeatedly failed over and over again. First the word diet relates strongly with loss, if you put the two together it starts to make sense why we have overwhelming feelings of loss, frustration, or deprivation. You are essentially telling your subconscious that ‘very soon' you will begin a diet of deprivation where you will begin restricting the food you love, removing any emotions that were attached to that food such as stress eating, start an exercise regiment, and remove existing weight.

 

We also do ourselves no favors by negative self talk. You may not even notice it but what you say to yourself has profound and lasting repercussions. If you constantly yell at yourself for overeating, feel bad, or call yourself fat you are planting subconscious anchors which impede your mental health. If you would not allow someone to speak to the way you speak to yourself then it is time that you learned to re-word your internal communication to become less self destructive.

 

As you may notice by now your subconscious considers your weight normal and has constructed and entire lifestyle around your existing habits. There is a huge sense of loss already beginning to materialize as resistance within the subconscious starts to realize and interpret what you are asking it to do. Throw in the words loss (as in weight loss), diet as in (weight loss diet = loss= die), and put in forced exercise (negative feelings) and you have a cocktail for an extreme buildup for resistance.

 

There is a small percentage of people existing today that can restrict foods, change their emotions, renegotiate their relationship with food, concentrate on success, enjoy exercising, remove any emotional food replacements, remove negative self talk, feel comfortable losing weight, remove any social pressures to eat, relearn and retrain their mind about portion size, avoid the scale, suppress hunger, remove unhealthy snacking, change their diet, and smile while accomplishing their weight loss, but if this is not you, continue reading and I will tell you how my program will work for you.

 

 

The process of weight defined

 

As you can notice above weight loss in theory seems like it should be a very simple process. You decide you want to lose weight, diet, exercise, and lose weight, simple right? Well maybe not, most everyone I see for weight normalization has tried and is tired of repeatedly getting on and off of the roller coaster which is weight. Also we don't consider the many; many factors in which we gained weight in the first place.

 

Maybe you have always been the ‘heavy kid', or you gained weight during pregnancy, or you eat to relieve stress about your job, which makes you eat more and stress more. All of the conditions related to eating can cement themselves in your subconscious as fact. For instance if you have always been heavy your entire belief process has ‘grown up' believing that you are heavy, your subconscious will fight to keep you heavy not matter how hard you try and ‘lose' weight.

 

Now throw in a cocktail of emotions and benefits of eating such as enjoyment, eating for stress relief, filling in emotional voids, eating to avoid emotions and other polarizing topics, and you have essentially created a foolproof reason for your subconscious to continue your existing habits. Also as I have described above, weight loss is “just not that simple” for most people, and you may not even be aware of the reasons why you are overweight.

 

Consider this, each and every time you start a diet, lose weight, fail, and regain your weight plus more you are teaching your subconscious to fail. You are also supplying the subconscious with ammunition to use during the next diet (which it learned during the first failure) that will shorten the cycle of dieting, remove less weight, and get your right back to your current size in no time.

Now you may be thinking, man I hate my subconscious, but don't, its only trying to protect you and you.

 

 

Subconscious Protection

 

It may sound odd because in ‘this case' it may seem that you are in a battle against your subconscious mind, but consider this; weight is just one of many aspects being controlled back there. If you enjoy your work ethic, your compassionate humanistic behavior, your love of animals, or many of the thousands of other positives about yourself you can thank your subconscious mind.

 

Our subconscious is basically a combined patterns of all of our learned experiences, emotions and predictive patterns. Your subconscious mind is the one that drives you deep down to finish that college degree and show up to work early because it is the predictive part of your mind, the part that wants to promote your positive well being, and avoid negative feelings.

 

Also your subconscious is the predictive mechanism that helps sustain positive well being. This is why although you know you are overweight you continue the patterns that sustain your weight. Your subconscious will protect you by planting thoughts and reasons why you are overweight such as: if you really wanted to lose weight you would, your just too busy to lose weight, you need food, there is too much social pressure to eat, it's your works fault, it's too hard to change, you have to much stress, it's your families fault, you love to eat, etc. etc. These thoughts and reasons allow an excuse of why you are overweight, which during your busy day is good enough at that time to continue your existing habits and patterns.

 

So in other cases your subconscious mind is a helper, but in the case of weight it is hindering your conscious want and desire to normalize your weight.

Now you understand the basic principles that control weight, but let us recap quickly. You are overweight because.

 

• Your current belief structure that exists about yourself today
